We ask all clients that use the suggested Tattoo Mafia Aftercare Products. Do Not touch your new tattoo without washing hands first!
Your tattoo artist spent time to clean, disinfect, sanitize, and barrier their station. As well as sterile tattoo instruments and single use needles and materials. Now it is up to you to take appropriate care for your new tattoo.
Your Tattoo is not permanent until it is healed !
PRODUCTS YOU CAN USE
- SOAP : This soap must be scentless & colorless. Most scented or colored soaps contain alcohol in their perfumes, as well as dyes which can irritate and dry out your new tattoo. Our recommendation is Dove soap. It is a mild moisturizing soap that contains no alcohols or perfumes. This way there is very little to no stinging or irritation and a reduced chance of allergic reaction.
- OINTMENT : There is a list of ointment options available. We recommend one of three different options, depending on your skin type and environment. Bacitracin, Emu Oil or Tattoo Therapy. If you have products that worked for you in the past and have had no issues with them. Feel free to use them, according to the guild lines set below. If this is your first tattoo, please take the advise of your artist and use their recommendation. Failure to do so can result in rough healing. All touch ups necessary to fix your tattoo, will be at your expense not the studios.

Tattoo Therapy has the same all natural ingredients as emu oil only with aloe vera to cool the burn of the procedure. Comes in 2 convent sizes.

Emu Oil is used to lessen or eliminate keloids, reduce recent scarring, and is beneficial in treating rashes, eczema and psoriasis. Emu Oil aids in relieving the sting and burn from new artwork or piercing; helps stop itching; reduces inflammation and redness; minumizes plasma oozing; promotes faster healing.

- Piercing – Gently massage one drop of Emu Oil around the opening(s) of the piercing with clean finger 2 – 3 times daily on clean skin.
- Stretching – Apply Emu Oil daily to clean area 2 weeks prior to stretching to help keep skin moist and pliable. Emu Oil will help strengthen skin to prevent tears and blowouts. Apply a drop of Emu Oil on new jewelry before insertion of larger gauge to ease glide.
- Note: Emu Oil should not be used on scarification or branding as Emu Oil inhibits scabbing and scarring.

PRODUCTS YOU SHOULD NOT USE
- DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS : Neosporin, Triple Antibiotic, A&D These products have a high chance of creating a a rash or other side effects that may effect the healing and over all health of the tattoo.
- DO NOT USE a used wash cloth or worn clothing to clean your new tattoo. New clean wash cloth only.
- DO NOT USE old aftercare products given to you by your friends or family, as it may have been contaminated during its previous use.

Your piercer spent time to clean, disinfect, sanitize, and barrier their station. as well as sterile piercing instruments and single use needles and materials. Now it is up to you to take appropriate care of your new piercing.
PRODUCTS YOU CAN USE
- NEILMED : helps maintain balance and promotes quick healing. The easiest and safest saline is sterile wound wash saline in a pressurized can. (In stock at our studio).
- Dissolve 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon (.75 to 1.42 grams) of non-iodized (iodine-free) sea salt into one cup (8 oz / 250 ml) of warm distilled or bottled water. A stronger mixture is not better; a saline solution that is too strong can irritate the piercing.
- NON WOVEN GAUZE : For Soaking piercings in Sterile Saline solution.

- Rubbing Alcohol
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Bactine
- Ear or Eye Care Solutions
- Antibacterial soaps (i.e. Liquid Dial or Softsoap)
- Neosporin (or other petroleum-based ointments)
- Betadine (povidone iodine)
- Hibiclens
Chemicals of any kind will upset the PH balance inside your body and prevent or delay healing!
